GRANTMAKING AT ACT

COMMUNITY FUND GRANTMAKING > MALONE

The mission of the Greater Malone Community Fund is to support local needs and opportunities and improve the quality of life in the greater Malone region.

The Fund was established to support community needs and opportunities such as community beautification, historic preservation, education, culture and the arts, and programs for youth and senior citizens. The Fund also administers two component funds: the Bev Quenville Art Fund and the Alice Ballard Hospice Fund from which grants are made.

Grants totaling nearly $10,000 have been made since the fund's inception in 2004. In the early years of grantmaking the fund gave to such organizations as House of History, Malone Revitalization Committee, Foothills Art Society and Hospice of the North Country.

Follow Up

The recipients of grants from the Greater Malone Community Fund are asked to provide a six month report on how the funds were used.  This helps Adirondack Community Trust and GMCF administrators to assess the impact of these funds on the community and the people it reaches, in an effort to better serve the region.
